Chaplaincy Program
Our Chaplain Program is offered to any patient who indicates a desire for a visit by the chaplain-on-call or when requested by hospital staff, such as in emergency situations. For more information, contact Human Resources at (770) 387.8172.
Diabetes Self-Management Education Program
Cartersville Medical Center's Diabetes Education program is nationally recognized by the American Diabetes Association. It is one of only 27 other nationally recognized programs in the state of Georgia.
The diabetes education program provides comprehensive services for both adults and children with Type One, Type Two or Gestational Diabetes. The program consists of a 4-hour class held every other week in the hospital classroom. A physician referral is required for admission into the class, which is taught by a certified diabetes educator and a registered dietician.

Emergency Department
Our Level II Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's staffed around the clock by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and our highly trained support staff. Cartersville Medical Center's Emergency Department includes 17 beds, a "fast track" area for minor emergencies, a modern nurse station and other support areas.
Occupational Medicine Center
Cartersville Medical Center's Occupational Medicine Center offers area businesses and industries comprehensive services dedicated to providing a safe and healthy work environment for employers.
Services include treatment of work related injuries, employment physicals, drug screening, breath alcohol testing, DOT physicals and drug screening, audiometric screening, pulmonary function testing as well as other pre-employment or surveillance testing. Immunizations, Health Fairs and Wellness programs can be conducted at the business or industry site.
Pain Management
Chronic pain adversely affects a person's quality of life. Our Pain Management Center was established to help patients who suffer from chronic pain to reduce their pain symptoms.
The service is run by experienced anesthesiologists with advanced training in pain management.
If you are suffering from chronic pain, talk with your doctor about a referral to the Pain Clinic at Cartersville Medical Center. Our final goal is to reduce symptoms to the point where they do not interrupt a person's normal life.
Rehabilitation Services
Cartersville Medical Center provides professional rehabilitation services for adults and children. Inpatients and outpatients benfefit from therapeutic services including:

Same-Day Surgery
Outpatient surgery procedures include minimally invasive and laparascopic surgery techniques, as well as the latest in laser surgery. In addition, surgeons in a variety of medical specialities perform these procedures, including: ear, nose and throat (ENT)surgery, breast biopsies, cataract surgery, hernia repair and laparascopic procedures. With same-day surgery, you'll be able to have a procedure and recover at home that same day.
Sleep Studies
If you complain of problems associated with sleep, including snoring, daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, troubled concentration, short term memory loss, and/or sudden inability to remain awake, then you may have a sleep disorder. If you think you may have a sleep disorder, contact your physician, who can refer you to our program for a diagnostic sleep study.
Special Beginnings Maternity Services
Special Beginnings at Cartersville Medical Center offers family-centered childbirth services that are popular among growing families in the area. Our facility includes seven Labor, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) rooms, a newborn nursery, ten post-partum rooms, a new lactation area, two exam rooms and a highly trained staff of nurses. We offer childbirth education classes in six-week sessions, as well as an educational video library and the "Newborn Channel," so that parents can learn more about birthing techniques and childcare.
