Endoscopy & GI Services

Gastrointestinal Endoscopy is a process that allows physicians to visually inspect the body’s passageways, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, using an endoscope. The endoscope is a lighted, flexible tube-like instrument that enables the physician to examine specific areas to better evaluate and detect any potential health risks. A variety of standard endoscopy procedures are routinely performed at Cartersville Medical Center, including:

  • Colonoscopy
  • EGD
  • ERCP
  • PEG Placement (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound
  • Pill Endoscopy
