True Colors
Cancer survivors, male and female, are invited to receive a personal Color Analysis. Based on the best selling books, “Color Me Beautiful” and “Color Me Confident”, this program is designed to help participants determine which colors of clothing, accessories, an make-up (if appl.), compliment their natural beauty or good looks. Participants leave with a swatch wallet of their best colors to take with them. It’s all FREE! Sessions led by Dr. Lorie Hughes and local volunteer Shelvy Murray.

Call The Hope Center to register for the next class at 678.721-5555.

American Cancer Society: Man to Man
Volunteer prostate cancer survivors talk to men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer for moral support before and after treatment. Men are encouraged to discuss their concerns openly and honestly and to share solutions to common problems.

Call 1.800.ACS.2345 for an application or more information.

Reach to Recovery

To access the site on the internet, go to www.cancer.org and click on the Cancer Survivor’s network icon. There are chat room, survivor stories, and 250 hours of prerecorded discussions and personal stories.

Dietician on Call
Cancer treatment can often bring on side effects like nausea, weight loss or gain, fluctuating appetite, and various eating difficulties. Nutrition tactics can help with these side effects and improve patients’ quality of life. Through the Dietitian on Call program, a registered dietitian works with patients to develop personalized nutrition plans.

Patients can access this free program by calling 1.888.ACS.NEED. After the call, a registered dietitian contacts each patient to develop plans that meet their unique needs.

American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Network and Patient Navigation Center
The American Cancer Society is ready to help all cancer patients and care-givers with vital information for understanding the diagnosis, managing life from day to day through treatment and recovery, and finding the emotional support needed.
